Training of Implementing Partners for The CSO SIDA Project in Evidence and Documentation - Supported by Save The Children
This initiative aimed to enhance partners' capacity in evidence gathering, documentation, and reporting to ensure quality Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Documentation (MELD) processes throughout project implementation.
M31 Research, in partnership with Save the Children International (SCI), conducted a five-day Evidence Gathering and Documentation Training Workshop for SCI’s Implementing Partners under the Sida Civil Society Strengthening Project. This initiative aimed to enhance partners' capacity in evidence gathering, documentation, and reporting to ensure quality Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Documentation (MELD) processes throughout project implementation.
Project Goal:
To build the capacity of SCI Implementing Partner staff in report writing, evidence gathering, and documentation, ensuring effective communication of project implementation progress and outcomes.
Key Objectives:
- Strengthen the capacity of partners in using key evidence gathering tools.
- Equip participants with skills for effective report writing and documentation.
- Develop evidence gathering plans embedded within closeout plans.
- Facilitate the creation of sustainability and exit strategies to ensure long-term impact.
Training Content Highlights:
- Evidence Gathering and Documentation: Importance and methodologies for effective evidence collection.
- Data Collection Approaches: Tailored approaches for different stages of the project lifecycle.
- Key Data Gathering Tools: Action Tracker, IPTT, SPEL Tracker, Outcome Tracker, and After-Action Review.
- Quality Reporting: Techniques to link activities with project outcomes and objectives.
- Sustainability and Exit Strategies: Development of plans to ensure long-term benefits beyond project closure.
Training Methodology:
The workshop utilized a blend of facilitation techniques, including PowerPoint presentations, brainstorming sessions, case study discussions, hands-on exercises, and daily feedback reviews.
Outcomes:
- Enhanced capacities in evidence gathering, documentation, and reporting among partner organizations.
- Improved understanding and application of key tools like IPTT, SPEL Tracker, and Outcome Tracker.
